Beds and Headboards

Bed construction
Because making a bed is a complicated task, it requires many pictures. For your convenience, we have separated it into steps. Please see the steps at this link, to get started. This free woodworking plans and projects information is courtesy of Matthew Osbourne and his web site.
Bed, Children’s (Toddler)
When our girl was a little over 1 year old, she started climbing out of her crib, creating a potential for a dangerous fall. So, I went looking for a nice low toddler bed. What I found was of such bad quality I wondered if the bed would even last as long as my daughter would need it. Since I already built bunk beds, I thought the toddler bed would not be too difficult to build.
Bed Frame, Willow
Building a willow wood bed frame for home, including construction tips, braces, bending, spokes, side rails, tools and materials list, diagrams. ...

Bed, Child’s
A nifty solution for a child’s first bed by David and Jeanie Stiles. When your child has outgrown a crib (generally around age four) you are faced with the problem of what size bed to invest in next. The child’s bed is made from one sheet of 3/4-inch plywood plus one 8-foot-long 1x8 for one of the side boards. (I designed this project to have a minimum amount of waste, which is why one side board is cut from a 1x8--there isn’t enough room on the plywood 4x8 sheet to fit both side boards. However, you may prefer that they both be the same.)

Bed, Child’s
The 1800mm-high four-poster bed has space for a curtain rail to hang a mosquito net in the summer months, swing doors and all the attractions of a secret den. Let your child choose their favorite colors, using oil-based enamel paint for extra toughness and easier cleaning.
Bed, Child’s - in an Elephant shape
A playfully decorated children's room will inspire enthusiasm and yet is practical in its use. There are roll out elements, pull out drawers, shelves and even the “cave” underneath will find it's use in your child's imagination. (Germany)

Bed, Child’s - Race Car ’Wiggles’

Bed, Child’s Princess Carriage

Bed, Four Poster
If you’ve ever gone shopping for a top-quality wooden poster bed, you know they can be quite expensive. The bed we’re presenting to you here is not only considerably less expensive because you make it yourself, but you’ll be assured of its quality because you select the raw lumber and you control its quality. These plans are designed for a twin size bed, however you can simply enlarge the dimensions for a queen, king or full size bed. You can also easily modify any of the turning profiles or headboard shape if you have some ideas of your own. This free woodworking projects page is courtesy of the Shopsmith web site.
