Cabinet,
Tablesaw - Portable
Space is always at a
premium in most home shops, and my shop is no different.
If a large fixed table saw could even be afforded, I
couldn’t have afforded the space for it, so I had to
come up with an arrangement which was both affordable
and functional. It needed to be sturdy, versatile,
workable, and moveable.

Cross
Cut Sled
I wanted to build a cross
cut sled to complement my Duddy Board. I really like my
Dubby but, I needed some thing larger and heavier to cut
shelves with. My solution was my version of a popular
sled design. This free woodworking plans and projects

Jig,
Universal Table Saw - How to build one (Video)
Steve offers, in layman’s
terms, a video how-to of building one of WOOD™
Magazine’s universal tablesaw jigs. A well done video. |
Jig,
Auxiliary Fence
Recently, when tuning up my
table saw, I discovered that the face of the rip fence
wasn’t square to the saw table. And there was no way
to adjust it to remedy the problem. Rather than admit
defeat, I decided to add an auxiliary fence to the rip
fence that could be easily adjusted. This free

Jig,
Taper - True Cut
Ripping table legs or other
project pieces at an angle can be frustrating, even
dangerous. This jig lets you set the precise angle to
cut leg after leg safely. |

Jig,
Tapering - for your tablesaw
The tapering jig sits
between the fence and blade of your table saw. The jig
has a hinge in the center that adjusts the angle of the
taper. A scale shows you the degree of the angle. It
doesn’t take much of an angle to make a good taper. In
this example, the scale is set at two degrees. This free

Magnetic
Stop Block, Tablesaw
“...recently, I came up
with an idea that avoids the hassle of fiddling around
with clamps. Instead I use a magnetic stop block. It’s
just a hardwood block with a pair of small magnetic
catches inserted into one edge...” This free

Panel
Cutting Sled
When you use our panel
cutting sled, you’ll never wonder if the corner you
just cut is square. For hair-splitting accuracy, the
beefy fence is fixed at 90 degrees to the blade and
shows exactly where your saw blade will cut. And, the
fence-leading design holds wider workpieces more solidly
and keeps your work closer than fence-trailing jigs. |
Ripping
Jig - Ride the fence rail
While using a pushstick to
rip some thin strips, I realized that there must be a
better, safer way to get the work done. This
fence-riding pusher provides downward pressure on the
workpiece and keeps your hand well clear of the blade. |
Panel
Cutting Table
It hit me that his Panel
Cutting Table was really what I needed. Most of us have
built or used something similar to Gary’s cutting
table, it was his simple procedure for lifting the
material onto the table that I had never thought of.
Ingenious. |
